Yep. Reminds me of a great Hitler story. He sent a double to preen in front of an adoring crowd but not say a word lest his cover be blown.
After working the crowd into a frenzy just by strutting back and forth across the stage, he gave them the salute, walked off the platform and got in the car which drove him away.
That's the kind of media we have in this country.
