Reconciliation has to be a two-way street. What you are proposing seems to be only going one way.

It looks to me like Donald attempted to reconcile by giving Cruz a prime time speaking slot, but I have yet to see Cruz doing anything but doubling down on trying to bash Trump.

If I were in a similar position, why would I try to reconcile with someone who is doing nothing but trying to tear me down and shows no interest in reconciliation?

And also, while I’m going to argue with you on this point, I, at least, am not calling abuse because you’re not a never-Trump bozo like some of the posters are. So I appreciate that, even if I don’t think that your ideas are correct in this case.

I imagine Cruz is under a lot of pressure from his wife not to endorse Trump. My wife is about as cute as Trump's wife, much cuter than Heidi Cruz and never a scowl, but there have been bad pictures. My wife would stay angry forever at someone who publicized one of them to make her look bad (regardless of the events leading up to that). I know - we've been around crude/crass politicians who misbehaved toward her.

Trump is the candidate. He is facing an experienced criminal enterprise that cheated in the primaries and colluded with the media to beat Bernie. The Clinton Crime Family will now engage in widespread fraud to steal the election, still with media support. I am disgusted that Cruz won't step up, even given that Ted and Heidi find Trump distasteful, but the fact is Cruz is not doing anything. It's the candidate's job to fix problems, when the staff can't get it done. That's why I want Trump to do something. Meet with Cruz privately. Promise him a position on the Supreme Court (that's a good match for him), since the Senate would be thrilled to get rid of him, even that way.

I'm retired from polling now, but I still have access to inside information. There are enough Cruz supporters who are still not moving toward Trump that a Cruz endorsement would make a big difference. I'd like to think Trump doesn't need those votes, and that might be true. It sure would be nice. I just am unwilling to bet our country's survival on Trump's current lead being outside the margin of fraud.
