Rate hikes show rising health costs and Obamacare’s flaws

The big rate increases announced last week for health insurance policies sold by California’s version of the federal health reform are the latest evidence that the Affordable Care Act, despite its name, cannot do much to tame the rise of health care costs.

Another issue is that the law is fairly lax about allowing people to move in and out of coverage. As a result, people may be delaying their purchase of insurance until they are sick, and then getting coverage. That means the insurance companies must cover their costs without having collected much in premiums, if any, to help finance that care.

Predictably, the ‘academic’ morons (I repeat myself) who gave us Obamacare will now use its failure to double down and push for more government control - i.e. ‘the public option’.

All we need is PEACE.

The Public Employee Affordable Care Enrollment Order.

All persons that can be classified as a Public Employee or a Retired Public Employee, Shall Certify under Penalty of Perjury to the Franchise Tax Board by the 15th of Every Month, that they Are Currently Enrolled in and have Purchased their Own Personal and Family Health Insurance Policy from the Affordable Care Act Exchange.

Any Public Employee or a Retired Public Employee that fails to Certify Under Penalty of Perjury to the Franchise Tax Board by the 15th of the Month and every month thereafter, Shall be Subject to a $10,000 Civil Penalty per Day.

This Order Shall be enforced by the Franchise Tax Board, and Shall have Top Priority over All other Cases.

I caught that too. Yep. Health care costs are rising so much that even the wonderful ACA can’t ‘tame’ it.

How and Why would they want to “tame it?” They should but won’t so, America, you are stuck with it.
