Author, pastor and prophet Tim LaHaye died of a stroke on Monday. He was 90.
LaHaye was perhaps best known for his Left Behind end times series with co-author Jerry B. Jenkins.
"Thrilled as I am that he is where he has always wanted to be, his departure leaves a void in my soul I don't expect to fill until I see him again," Jenkins said. "The Tim LaHaye I got to know had a pastor's heart and lived to share his faith. He listened to and cared about everyone, regardless of age, gender, or social standing. If Tim was missing from the autograph table or the green room of a network television show, he was likely in a corner praying with someone he'd just metfrom a reader to a part-time bookstore stock clerk to a TV network anchorman."

Im sure hes hearing, Well done, good and faithful servant.
With out a doubt....RIP your books were great. Please LORD, give peace and comfort to Pastor LaHaye’s family.
Hopefully his Pre-Trib fantasy will die with him.
Go back and read what I wrote to you again..Fool!
Yep
My condolences. May his soul, and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the Mercy of God rest in peace. Amen
Looks like he Left the rest of us Behind.
Everyone will eventually be taken up to be with the Lord. LaHaye was called to be a part of the advance party.
You never wrote anything to me specifically.....Noob!
Apparently you are close to toast...here.
Very nice.
RIP, Dr LaHaye.
The New York Times Article: “Tim LaHaye Dies at 90; Fundamentalist Leaders Grisly Novels Sold Millions”
They attack a dead man over his Christian ideas on the end times. He was a loving patriot of the greatest generation, a tail gunner on a bomber during WWII. He should have died in that deadly occupation, but the Lord spared him.
The NYT is worse than a rag. It has no concept of appreciation of the life of good men.
Really? So I’m dealing with management, or am I dealing with a bitter cruzbot?
Deal with that......
I’m a FReeper too, deal with that.
And you were dealt that hand..........and played it.
Good luck...
Lets do this, we can argue about religion on Nov. 9th
In the mean time lets do what we can do to elect Donald Trump, then build a wall and make America great again.

Mike Farris:
“Tim LaHaye, my mentor, has gone home to heaven.
I met Tim in 1980 and went to work for his wife, Beverly, shortly thereafter.
I worked directly for the LaHayes for six years and with them as allies for another thirty.
Tim was on my ordination council and preached the message for my ordination service.
Other than my father, no man has influenced my life more than Tim LaHaye.
I watched him found many organizations. He was a man who made things happen. And he always brought others along with him. He didn’t always get the credit for his many incredible ideas because he was a team player rather than a glory seeker.
I watched him lead people to Christ. I watched him pray for the weak and troubled. I watched him pray for the powerful and privileged.
He taught the Word. He loved his Lord. He loved America.
He also loved his wife with an inspiring tenderness. I traveled with Tim and Bev alone dozens of times. I stayed in their home and saw the real couple very much up close and personal. I never saw even one time where he treated his wife with anything less than tenderness and loving kindness.
Tim and Bev were responsible for me learning about homeschooling and they gave me the flexibility to start HSLDA while I was working for them. Without them, HSLDA probably wouldn’t have happened.
I could go on a long time. But I will end with a story.
Tim once told me that he wanted to write a book called “How to Walk in the Spirit When You Feel Like Walking in the Flesh.” He said, “As soon as I figure out the answer I will write it.”
He didn’t write that book on paper but by watching him he wrote it in my heart. I saw a man live, not by formulas, but by simply obeying God on the thing that was right in front of him. That was the answer. And that was the life lived by my dear, dear friend, Tim LaHaye.”
RIP
There were parts of the books that I enjoyed very much.
There were other parts where there was so much rehashing of previous events, that it got ridiculous.
The whole series could have been shortened by at least three books if they took all the filler out of them.
He did write some other stuff that was very good.
I didn’t realize he was that old and he lived a live relatively free of scandal as far as I recall. Not something that is too common these days.
“Sorry but Mr. LeHaye subscribed to some very fringe theology which is generally covered under the heading of premillennialism. There is no credible evidence of belief in this unbiblical heresy among any Christian churches prior to its invention around 1830 by John N Darby. Most Christians consider it to be a form of pseudo-Christianity in much the same category as Christian Science, the Jehovahs Witness movement and the Mormons.”
I agree. There have always been somewhat differing views about various aspects of the end times. However, the idea that Christ will return secretly or partially for a “Rapture” to set up a literal 1000-year earthly kingdom, and that there will be multiple resurrection events of the saved, multiple judgments of the lost, and that God divides history into “dispensations” and that the church is a “parenthesis” or kind of a temporary fix - no one taught all of this until the 1830s. Most churches, including Baptist, rejected this idea, so few people, all the way from Catholic to Baptist believed in it or even heard of it. It seems this idea caught on in Baptist churches less than 100 years ago and it is now also the default position of many non-denominational churches and it is considered to be orthodox by many, but it is a recent innovation.
