Questions could be sent to a neutral entity and then randomly picked and asked by a non-media individual. There are many differ ways to do this.
Questions could be sent to a neutral entity by real Americans, and then randomly picked by a (non-human) computer, pulled out of hat etc, and then asked by a non-media individual. A professional public speaker would be fine. Again, there are many differ ways to do this and oversee it.
