I think what we should do is eat raw Brussels sprouts. Now what I do is chop them up and put them in a bowl. That is, you cut off the end, slice in half and let the outer leaves fall off (you don't want to eat those). They are quite good when eaten raw. However, if you must roast them, make sure you use olive oil, pepper, bacon bits and just a little kosher salt. Let them brown on the outside.
Unfortunately, I’m one of the persons who lacks the genetic mutation that obviates the bitter flavor inherent to Brussels sprouts, so I can’t stand to eat the damn things.
