For years there have been a few voices pointing out Erdogan’s plan. Nobody will listen. The “coup” was definitely planned and carried out by him and his followers. I see him announcing his forgiveness of the coup leaders. Why? Because they were acting on his orders.

Actually, the one who’s wetting his pants with excitement is the Mohammaden dog Erdogan’s too vocal admirer, Donald Trump!
But the real execution warrant has been issued: Erdogan killed the secular Turkey of Ataturk, the dream that a Muslim nation could take its place in the front rank of civilization.

You are right - somehow this fact got lost in translation! I hope Trump gets his compass fixed on this issue. But then Turkey is a mixed country and certainly not a US-ally. Never was.
