I've been retired for well over a decade, by this point, so am doubtless well and truly out of the loop. ;) What are the current laws regarding such things, if you don't mind my asking...? (I'm genuinely curious, here!)

I’m not up to date either, but a few years ago law was that once you had laid off 1/3 of your workforce you had to give 60 days notice of further major layoffs or provide severance to all future reductions in force.
