I'm sure most of the good folks who currently occupy that area would have something to say about that. But that said, I can see an angle where it would be beneficial to the AA's.
If it truly were a "separate country within a country", then I'd assume they're willing to do it without any help (read: money) from that nasty white supremacist capitalist imperialistic rest of the country. They'd hafta work it themselves, and the current option of staying home squirting out babies for a living wouldn't work. They hafta levitate t'wards renewed family units and working for a living. Sooner or later that l'il light hasta come on. You'd hope.
But this is prolly closer to reality d;^)
