For anyone who tries to lay blame on the victim, I'd like to know what in earth he could've done differently.

That cop is toast. His career is over and chances are good that he’ll be jailed as well. This guy single handed destroyed the sacrifice of those cops shot. You better bet there will be some screaming and yelling from the BLM movement as well as the liberal press, Hillary and 0bozo.

It is going to be very interesting to see how the police spokesman handles this

With the video already being viewed by millions,
they are going to have to come out and address the situation VERY Soon

The video I saw doesn’t show the actual shooting just the victim laying on the ground with his hands in the air. What I did see of the cops looked like they were at least 20 yards away in a posture behind their cars aiming rifles at the guy with his hands up. If that’s how it went down then that makes it even worse - cop can’t say he was in a close quarters life threatening situation where he had a split second to make a life or death decision.

Where in the video was he actually shot? I can’t find it. How can anyone decide if you can’t see the actual moment of the shooting.

It looks like a bad shoot, but where is the video at the moment?

Looks bad. That’s why we have an app for that.

Let the system work.

THIS is why people are not supporting cops: They cry Boo Hoo! on one hand and Bang! Bang! with the other.

It will be interesting to see what the BLM crowd does.

Their previous actions IMHO were clearly pre-planned, and they picked whatever black man was killed that time, whether valid or not, as a pretext to hit the streets and push their political message.

here we have a case that appears to be outrageous - but what will BLM do?

At first glance I thought it said that an “Unarmed Behavior” Therapist had gotten shot, and I thought - major fail.

A long, long time ago I was accepted to an engineering program starting with fall classes. That prior summer, I figured my life was heading to all facts and figures for the duration, so I took a job at a group home for developmentally disabled adults for some social maturing. That was an eye-opener, let me tell you.

They had one patient of Japanese descent. He spoke no English, and was a fairly big guy for his background. Every once in a while, he would get upset about something and try to storm out of the group home. Security was spotty, and he often succeeded. He’d take a beeline for the nearest arterial and start walking; always in the same direction. I don’t know if he was heading for his nearest family members, or if he thought he could walk back to Japan.

I was the other big guy there, and a newbie, so it was my job to chase after him and turn him around. Once headed back to the group home, he would calm down and go back inside. But it wasn’t easy. He had palsy in one arm, but would flail out and try to scratch with the other arm. It took quite a bit of physical force to turn him around, while not hurting him, and not getting hurt. We did this dance a few times, often in traffic with cars whizzing around.

No one ever called the cops on us (probably because there were no cell phones back then). I’ve wondered how that would play out now, and I guess I have my answer. At least my Japanese friend never escaped or got hurt during my summer working there.

After viewing the video it is a bad shoot giving credit to the black nonsense sweeping our country. The attacks upon police have probably frightened the officers and they will shoot “at the drop of a hat.” I can’t blame them for that response. The burden is still on the black to obey the rules and not resist.

How can you speculate without any video of the actual shooting?

Unlucky. The report given to dispatch was that there was a gun spotted.

How many dead cops in the last two weeks? I imagine most are getting a case of the jitters.

Absolutely amazing. I cannot begin to describe how terrible this was.

We all should be very worried seeing things like this. Here we had an upstanding AMERICAN CITIZEN, who’s lifes work was helping autistic individuals, lying on the ground, complying with everything, not worrying a ton about himself, instead worrying about his autistic patient and what does our law enforcement do? They shoot him. Literally shoot him, and do it long after initial contact.

This officer should be charged with pre-meditated attempted murder, and nothing short should suffice. Secondarily, the other police officers should be dealing him some swift “on the side” justice.

If we are to be truly free men and women, we need to fix this. The whole of the police force may need to be purged, the training reviewed, and new requirements set. This is absolutely appalling, and again should frighten every true American.

I will leave all FReepers with this. If you review this, and believe this was anywhere near ok, then I do not consider you one of my countrymen.

"For anyone who tries to lay blame on the victim, I'd like to know what in earth he could've done differently."

No blame can be laid anywhere yet, as the video doesn't show any shooting.

In the news report below (if I have the right link), the police department is saying the autistic man and not the therapist was the target. The officer shot, they say, because he feared the autistic man was going to shoot the therapist.

The behavioral therapist was shot in the leg.

“Meanwhile, the officer involved in the shooting released a statement Thursday afternoon saying, “I took this job to save lives and help people. I did what I had to do in a split second to accomplish that and hate to hear others paint me as something I’m not.”

“The officer has not been identified, but police said he is a 30-year-old Hispanic man who has been with the police department for four years.”
