Im ashamed that I voted for Ted Cruz in the Massachusetts Republican Primary.
I thought he was a man of integrity. Last night he proved -- beyond a shadow of a doubt -- that he isnt. He made a solemn pledge to support the Republican nominee. And he broke that crucial promise.
I thought he was a patriot. Last night, he proved he isnt. However bitter and angry he is at Donald Trump, he knows that Trump is the only person standing between Hillary Clinton (a liar, a fraud, a thief and a traitor) and the presidency. And yet after meticulously laying out the case against another 4 to 8 years of leftist tyranny -- he refused to endorse the one man who can put an end to our long national nightmare.
Cruz wasnt driven by principle, but by ego. He cant accept the fact that the party chose Trump over him.
Ted Cruz made the worst mistake of his political career. Millions of us will never forget or forgive his betrayal. He will never be his partys nominee for president. He will never hold the highest office in the land.
Ted Cruz is a very small man.
The-Incredible-Shrinking-Canadian PING! ;)
Ted is a very UGLY man...sorry God....and he was never going to be President.
Ted Cruz - "****SQUEAK!!!!****"
;)
Indeed. Many of us who originally would have been okay with a Cruz nomination started seeing him for who he is several months ago. He's just another lawyer. Even without all the evidence that Cruz is a sleazebag, we don't need another lawyer for president. As we have seen with recent lawyer presidents, lawyers do not make good executives.
Wow, Feder articulates, precisely, exactly how I feel. I regret very much having ever voted for Cruz.
This article captures my thoughts perfectly. I voted for Cruz in the primary as well. What a waste of a vote on a complete asshole. Reagan in 1976 makes Cruz in 2016 look like the self centered, lying, traitor that he is. Hopefully, this stunt helps Trump more than it hurts. The independents and working voter can clearly see Trump is running against the elites in both parties. Never trump followers can go kiss fat Hillary’s ass.
With the exception of MIKE PENCE
It was the choice of Pence. A man better liked by colleagues. Successful in both congress and as governor A man who practices his faith Cruz saw his chances go down the drain He could not compete with the Pence resume.
Believing he was more powerful than he actually was he again misread the American people.
Jeb Bush
Ted Cruz

“Reagan in 1976 makes Cruz in 2016 look like the self centered, lying, traitor that he is.”

Yup. Compare and contrast. Reagan winding up his speech at the 76 convention -

Cruz had his little speech. Now he needs to get back to the whores.
All three have lost any respect I had for them. Now the question is will they abandon the country to Clinton or actively campaign against her?
Wallace: Will support Donald Trump if he’s the nominee?
Cruz: Yes, because I gave my word that I would...
A post on another thread suggests that "supporting" and "endorsing" aren't the same thing, so Cruz didn't actually break his pledge.

Hi you may be new to politics and not realize that there’s a reason he’s called Lyin’ Ted. So let me enlighten you:
The text of the pledge: I [name] affirm that if I do not win the 2016 Republican nomination for president of the United States I will endorse the 2016 Republican presidential nominee regardless of who it is. I further pledge that I will not seek to run as an independent or write-in candidate nor will I seek or accept the nomination for president of any other party.

Yes, stand upon that, by all means.
Ted “supported” no one but himself last night.
He congratulated Trump in the beginning of his diatribe, like the losing boxer congratulates the winner.
Ted did not even ask anyone to vote for Trump, instead giving out a dog whistle to the few Cruzoids still out there somewhere to “vote their conscience”.
No way for Lyin’ Ted to spin what we all saw last night.
A mentally ill Canadian poser with a Mussolini complex trying to be the winner of the pageant after the winner has been declared.
I would not want such a mentally unstable person anywhere near the launch codes.
What Ted did last night was not forgivable.
Trump extended the olive branch and Ted pissed all over it.
Despicable and contemptible.
