That could not have been timed better if it was planned!
He didn’t even have to use Trump’s name, he could have said “vote for our nominee”.
His first mistake was running, then he let his ego take control and he became embittered.
“...Republican voters resoundingly chose Trump....”
Operative phrase, right there.
And Ted clearly didn’t accept it. It was indeed petty, spiteful... and very small.
That guy really pisses me off. There are certain people I will automatically turn off when they appear on TV. He’s now one of them. I used to think maybe he was OK. But as of now, I can’t stand the guy, at least as far as his political aspirations or public persona goes. When he talks, to me his words are tinny and hollow - nothing solid, no ring of authenticity. Last night was no exception.
I just read a short biography on Benedict Arnold. What came through was a fatal flaw that his personal ambition was more important than the lofty goals he was supposed to be fighting for. That’s Ted Cruz. Cruz supposedly stands for constitutional freedom but he’s shown me he puts his own political ambition and future first. In that sense, Ted Cruz is a Benedict Arnold as far as I’m concerned.
Someone said Cruz thinks he’s Reagan in 1976. Apparently his dad and apparently Cruz himself, think that Cruz has some sort of Divine Right to become President. I think they’re both nut jobs.
And if you want, I’ll tell you what I REALLY think about Cruz.
:)
“We have to fight. We cannot be cavalier about certain states the way that Mitt Romney was in 2012, and write them off without trying. “
I believe that Trump will go after ALL STATES! He’s even going to go after California!
All cruz really accomplished was ruining his own political career. He might as well join the dem party at this point. He had very little respect from other pols going into last night but he had the respect of the people. I figured it just wasn’t his time and he is young enough to have another go at it in 8 years if Pence doesn’t want the job.
All that went out the window when he proved his word meant nothing. He made a solemn promise to support the eventual nominee and even if does do it at a later time it won’t matter. He lost his one chance to do the right thing.
