CLEVELAND — Boy howdy! Every four years, Texans stand out at the Republican National Convention.
On opening and closing nights, delegation members get gussied up in cowboy hats and Texas flag shirts. When 310 delegates and alternates march through a city's streets wearing the same duds, people notice.
Once the Texans reach the convention hall, so do TV news producers.
"I was watching CSPAN the other night, and 25 percent of the crowd shots were cowboy hats," GOP consultant Dave Carney said, referring to the state delegation.

I got awfully tired of seeing the same delegates over and over. You would think the guys running the TV cameras would be required to have a graphic showing the state delegates being shown, and not give you an unlabeled millisecond view.I would think the various state citizens watching would be interested in what their delegates are doing.
Sort of a show within the show. But noooooooo, we get flighty camera work leaving the audience wondering what they are looking at. At least on CSPAN you don’t have the constant mainstream media believing what they have to say is more important than anything happening on the convention floor as they engage in interminable, arrogant, interruptions.
I was watching the convention on the OAN network, and it was obvious their cameraman was infatuated with one particular black woman: I counted 5 shots of her in the crowd in 5 minutes!
