Trump Campaign Guts GOP’s anti-Russia Stance on Ukraine

The Trump campaign worked behind the scenes last week to make sure the new Republican platform won’t call for giving weapons to Ukraine to fight Russian and rebel forces, contradicting the view of almost all Republican foreign policy leaders in Washington.

The Russian government will never be our "friend" unless there are huge changes within Russia. Those "needed changes" will not come from Putin, or any of his chosen successors. At least 80 percent of Putin’s political appointees and administrators come from the security/intelligence agencies.

We have a lot of enemies and the world is a dangerous place. Russia is just another enemy that labors hard at destabilizing the world. Seeing things as they are, and being able to name who our enemies are, is a big first step to making us safer.

How much of the Warsaw block do we have to give Putin to be his friend?

Most of the Putin allies here would let him waltz right into the block and re-establish the old empire. They don't want to fight any more neocon wars. I learned on this thread that Reagan was a neocon. I had no idea.

I think Ukraine doesn’t want a single US soldier to die for them as they have their own soldiers. There has already been over 7000 Ukrainian soldiers killed by Russians.

Allowing Pakistan to sell TOW missiles to Ukraine wouldn’t have killed any soldiers and wouldn’t have cost taxpayers anything as the barter was between Ukraine and Pakistan.

Yet Valerie Jarrett - a horrible person Obama put in charge of that thing - refused it.
