Years ago a police department did that with some journalists.. put a journalist in a police uniforms and took hi along for the ride. (It was voluntary and a total eye-opener.) Then it turned out city insurance wouldn’t cover the guy if he was hurt so a really cool experiment ended waaay too soon...
Kind of like a “Black Like Me” experience - only it was “Cop Like Me’.... Walking in each others shoes helps.
