My grandfather was a stonemason who came in through Galveston and traveled up the rivers. He settled in New Albany and used limestone from the Floyd knobs quarry to build numerous courthouses (Salem) and the Tunnelton tunnel. Had eleven children Some of the younger worked on the railroad.
OOlitic stone was a better quality and discovered later
