The Turkish military is fiercely secular, considering themselves the torchbearer for Atatürk's revolution. It is Erdoğan, who is basically supporting ISIS, who is increasingly bringing Islamism into Turkey. Sadly, he is doing this with broad popular support.

Erdogan and Gulen are opposing sects of Islam each wanting TOTAL control of Turkey. Gulenists have infiltrated the military, courts, police, schools etc in an attempt to attain enough power to overthrow Erdogan. This has been Gulens "stated" plan.
