Ataturk was an amazingly prescient individual. Turkey is far from perfect, but there are some things about its Constitution that would most blush.
Ataturk is probably smiling somewhere today.
The West could work with Ataturk, still can with al Sisi and Assad.
Erdogan has been whittling away at the freedoms Attaturk brought to Turkey. Erdogan has been reinstating Muslim restrictions and taking away the secular state Attaturk established, nibble by nibble. Good luck to the coup. I hope it succeeds. I have been watching Erdogan’s moves for years.
