Definitely a good thing. Erdogan was imposing an Islamist-styled dictatorship on the country and has been undermining everything in Syria
If (1) the coup is successful, and (2) Ergodan is replaced with a secular military leadership, then this will be a good thing.
There is a tradition in Turkey of a secular military being respected as guardians of society, much like in Egypt. But still need to know more before we celebrate too much.
