Not a horrible choice, a safe choice I guess. I would have been happier with Gingrich or Christie. I saw Pence with Trump the other day and was not impressed. Maybe he’ll step up his game. Now time to get them both elected!!!
Safe choice may be the right one at this point.
Hillary is imploding. The Comey non-referral has her in a tailspin, and I doubt she has the political skills to pull out of it. Trump just needs to look Presidential so most of the mushy middle finds him an acceptable alternative. Pence helps him I think in this regard.
Pence not my first choice, but he won’t damage Trump (a VP candidate’s first job), may bring a couple states in the Midwest, and could bring the #NT people on board. He is also going to be able to help with Congress, having been there for a dozen years, and is a credible POTUS if something happens to Trump.
Newt is better as an advisor, Christie as AG to go after government corruption and root the PC out of the FBI.
I like Perry for Energy, and Palin for Interior to work together to get fracking going full tilt on federal lands.
Christie is much more liberal than Pence on just about every issue, and Newt Gingrich is unstable: one day he says the sort of things we agree with, the next day he's supporting amnesty for illegals and Muslim immigration or defending BlackLivesMatter as "understandable."
Pence isn't a perfect choice ideologically (Jeff Sessions would have been much better), but he's still preferable to the other two on Trump's short list. If we're going to be stuck with a VP that the GOP establishment will tolerate, it may as well be Pence.
“Not a horrible choice, a safe choice I guess.”
That is how I see it.
Disappointed.
Not sure how a relatively unpopular governor from a safe GOP state helps at all.
