Disagree. Being nominated as VP carries a lot of power.

Think of George W and Dick Cheney. Would Cheney have had as much influence with the press, interactions with the world, policy, etc if he wasn’t VP?

No way. If Cheney was just behind the scenes, that would have been good. But by putting Cheney in as VP, he showed that the Republican ticket was serious.

Just as if Trump selects Newt. It would show he is serious about getting things done in the first 100 days. Newt is very action oriented and is the most capable of getting Trumps agenda done in the first 100 days, all the while, being out there and slaying the liberal media.

Sorry but I think you are delusional. If he picks Newt he will be spending political energy defending Newt and his ethic violations and resignation and all the other crap from 20 years ago... That’s where Hillary is and that is NOT where Trump needs to be.

Bush needed to add a level of serious to the ticket. Trump is Serious with a capital S. He doesn’t need anyone for ‘gravitas’ or any of that. What he does need, is someone to add a broader appeal, to show the unbelievers that he’s not ‘out there’. I don’t think he needs another old guy on the ticket. I think he needs someone younger but experienced.
he said once that he wanted someone with about 20 years political experience. I think someone good looking and charismatic would be a plus. Besides, he is painting a picture of a bright future for America. I don’t see him picking someone close to his own age.
