OK I think you have gone a bit to far. I am not sure how old you are, but possibly you remember a sitting US senator who drove drunk and killed a young lady. Letting her drown and doing nothing to help her until his stupor had worn off.

He did not go to jail like the rest of us. He did not even leave office. And was elected again and again. And he was lauded at his funeral, even though he also cheated and got thrown out of Harvard, was allowed to leave the military before his time, was caught speeding, sped away from cops, was drinking while driving.

So when you say this is a precedent, I disagree.
