Notice that the officers do not have a gun drawn until Sterling reaches for a gun and the officer says "He's got a gun, he's got a gun!"
New video shows shooting of Alton Sterling
The camera pans away when shots are fired but you can see the officer roll off of Sterling and then you hear "Get on the ground" and one then three shots. The article states he did have one shot to the back. Meaning he had to of gotten up or attempted to get up. Then you see an officer remove a gun from the right hand pocket.

Interesting data.
I think you meant Andrew Breitbart, not Alex...just sayin :)
Where is my freaking brain....
lol, sorry, I just truly enjoyed Andrew’s style and after having met him a few times, grew to simply adore him and his fearlessness.
Fortunate - you met him. I was beyond saddened, and angered, when he died, under very mysterious circumstances.
“OK I guess the police can just start shooting everyone.”
They don’t, though. If they’re so awful, how come they only shoot a few people, and in those cases the shot person has committed some egregious offense against common sense?
The only reaction I’ve ever had from LEOs was that one asked me if I’d ever had occasion to draw my weapon. I told him the truth—once, in the early seventies—and that was the end of it.
I think you have to screw up pretty badly to get yourself shot.
