I was stung by one of these a few years ago and my foot swelled up by at least a third its size and turned purple. I had to be on antibiotics for 4-6 weeks. It's called a "bald-faced hornet" although it is actually a wasp:

I RUN, (I literally and actually RUN) FROM all insects that buzz.

I’ve only had one bee sting in my entire life and that was at age 7 when I stepped on one hiding in grass rife with clovers.

I'm going to have to unload my SUV from my huge shopping spree at Home Depot. I purchased extra strength packing boxes, tape, the bubble wrap, those glass separators, wrapping paper, extra strength plastic wrap for Persian rugs and those crates for paintings with the proper wrap. IOW: $260.00 worth of boxes and packing materials.

Time to get a move on!

Hate wasps!
My worst allergic reaction was to fire ants...The stings are painful...The stings were on my feet but my face swelled, eyes almost closed...The doctor put me on cortisone which gave me the shakes...
