Background check,?....AA hire to make the numbers be good. I never went to the Reserves but one of the guys I know said he (my buddy) was just “OK” in Air Force active duty but when he went to Army Reserves he was a friggin’ GENIOUS! His commander asked him if he could read and he said ‘Yes’. They asked he if he could write. ‘Yes.’ He found out that half of his fellow soldiers couldn't (or wouldn't) speak English and the other 3/8’s were so stoned on drugs or just wouldn't show up for duty. He advanced rapidly through the ranks and said he was so scared he could puke every time his fellow soldiers were given weapons with ammo. I believe he said this was Chicago or Madison.
