It’s only worse in that the Internet lets us know every crazy bit of it nationwide.
Just imagine how much insane crap was going on in, say, 1970 in towns all over the country that wasn’t covered by Walter Cronkite or your local paper.
No it aint. The detroit riot had ove 15 cops and military killed alone and around 30 or so rioters.
There were hundreds wounded.
I worked with a trucker who was in the NATL guard and had to deploy down there. The riots ended when his outfit unloaded a nearly full belt of 50 cal into a lincoln full of the boys from the hood. They didnt make it. They then were told to police the area for looted stuff and get out of town. They went into the homes around there and took everything they could handle and loaded up the duce and a halfs and headed back to the UP. The boys from the hood lost everything that they thought they could get away with.
