My question is to those who are in a right to carry state or ccw permitted, while pulling over to a stop, would you ever leave a gun resting on your thigh half hidden or do you move it away from your shooting hand where the officer knows you can’t reach it quickly?

It should be concealed not open It’s a CONCEALED weapon permit One should inform the officer where the weapon is and ask what he/she wants you to do Then comply To the letter If noncompliance does not get you killed it will result in loss of your permit

“...while pulling over to a stop, would you ever leave a gun resting on your thigh half hidden...”

I’m not sure I can answer that question as the normal place I keep a weapon would be not be “resting” on my thigh. Moving a weapon resting on your thigh to another spot in the car...while pulling over for a traffic stop...could be problematic also. Are you tossing it over to the unoccupied passenger seat? Are you trying to slide it under the driver or passenger seat? Maybe reaching around your seat to place it on the back seat floor? I don’t know. To the cop, might look like your trying to hide something you shouldn’t have ..which complicates the stop.

Maybe, just maybe, I might slide the weapon over to the unoccupied passenger seat if I didn’t risk making big or furtive moves that were visible to the cop.
