Deep civilian spending cuts are badly needed. The national debt is well over $19 trillion. Personal and local government debts are even more outrageous. Start by cutting federal spending to state and local governments.

Are reporters trained to write stupid, or are they born that way? The Democrats successfully filibustered the bill. The Republicans fell ten votes short of cloture.

Fine. Just keep the Defense appropriations bill first to be voted on with no continuing resolution. When the Democrats filibuster put the spotlight on them for closing down the government.
