And your argument is “look at the practical headache, to hell with a principle.”
That is suspicious on its face.
I see we just disagree on this. And since I am a prison officer the practical headache is where it’s at, baby. I don’t have a problem with the rule of law either, despite the implication. What I have a problem with is the manipulation or perversion of the law by anyone, pro or con. I think the real difference between us is how we each view the law. You seem to view it as an abstraction. I see it more like a factory where people go to work and create a product. That product is the somewhat nebulous word “justice”. And since people are involved there is a great deal of variability on the quality of the product the factory produces. The problem starts when people in the “factory” have goals or motives besides the production of a quality product. Or think the “factory” shold be producing something else entirely.
Iv’e read your post over the years, you seem a good guy I look forward to arguing with you again. But beware, I’m Irish. We like to fight.
