He is supposed be saying it. It isn’t meant to be taken as someone calling him a Homo.
He played the Ladies Man on CHIPS.
It’s a joke, geez.

I met him at a DragonCon years ago. He seemed personable enough.

I’m a Beemer nut but that does appear to be a fairly recent Harley.

Estrada got a little rough with an offender he was arresting because the criminal was saying crap about Estrada’s mother.
Estrada got called before the police chief for a dressing down, saying to Estrada, “You should hear the things they’ve called me!”
The episodes you mentioned were shown, but the powers that be moved them from a major network to an obscure cable station that I didn’t get, so I never saw those “missing” episodes.

Just keep him away from Calif Pines.

Very good acting in The Cross and the Switchblade (his screen debut) as Nicky Cruz, the teen gang member whose life was transformed by Christ, which is a powerful Christian film and free to watch
here.

I liked him in the Cross and the Switchblade. One of my friends, helped teach Erik Estrada roller skating, for some movie, or TV show he was going to appear in. This friend, spent 20 years in the Navy, and is now a pastor in Northern California.
I also saw Nicky Cruz preach in Del Rio, TX, in 1974. He was quite a speaker, but I think he said, up till then, he had never met Erik Estrada. Maybe he has by now, I just don't know.

Today the Cross and the Switchblade would be attacked as racist, sexists, and bigotted (did i leave anything out?). But it remains a powerful testimony.
