Why is Comey staging this press conference? Is it to provide additional cover for Hillary assuring the public that nothing should be assumed that their interview with Hillary connotes guilt or that they will recommend an indictment.
Or is Comey pissed that Obama is campaigning today with Hillary to put pressure on the FBI along with the Bill Clinton-Lynch meeting? Will Comey assert that the FBI will follow the facts wherever they may lead? Or was Comey pushed out there by Lynch to keep up the charade that there is no political pressure from the administration one way or another?
I agree they are in full damage control. Other than that, it is anyone’s guess. :-(
On that count, they are almost certainly going to be found correct. The FBI can have probable cause ten times over, enough evidence to make a slam dunk case, and it still does not issue any recommendation to the prosecutor.

To further politicize the law. As you know, the results of FBI investigations are "secret" from the FBIs point of view.
An interesting development, just the same. We'll know in a few hours, what the man had to say.
I'll guess that he is tired of all the "leaks", which are really the Clintonites trying to do damage control.
So, he may simply announce that the investigation is not done, no decision has been made, and all of the "leaks" are simply spin.
He would probably use more charitable terminology, but that would be the net outcome.
