Just went to the range with a fairly proficient shooter who I shoot in Cowboy Action matches with. She is well over 100 lbs and shoots pistol and rifle in cowboy style better than me (as in I am slow as ship and she is fast). She asked me to show her how to shoot clay birds. She brought a small 20 gauge and wore a shoulder pad. 4-5 shots later, she was done. Too much fun for her.
I’ll have to admit though. The thought of walking into a room and hearing a pump shotgun slide being racked is enough to make anyone head for the nearest door.
If I were only a little more crafty, I would rig my doorbell to play that sound. (I live in a region where it's not strange to hear car horns playing Dixie or Reveille.)
