About 64 years ago when we lived in the mountains of Oregon my mother shot a black bear that was trying to come through the kitchen window. She used a model 61 Winchester pump 22, dad had to pull the bear back through the window. One round hit it in the nose and the other in the left eye, it died with it’s head in the sink. When dad pulled up 2 hours later he couldn’t believe what he was seeing.

Many, many years ago, a Walmart opened in Avon, CT. Crazed liberal mothers protested outside the store b/c their little snowflakes would walk by the sporting goods department, on the way to the toy department; according to their claim, the kids could *SEE* ammo stacked on the shelves for sale. See the ammo in sealed boxes. The moms were afraid of the kids being traumatized. [This was well B4 Sandy Hook].

The town had a public meeting to demand Walmart eliminate ammo in the store....a bunch of us *gun nuts* went. Surprised they let anyone speak, not just townspeople. The best statement was by a woman who was sitting next to me, in the audience. She told me, she was a registered democrat in town, and was outraged that anyone would want to limit another's God-given right to protect themselves. Her delivery was stunning and broadcast on the 11 o'clock news.
