The European Union opened an investigation Thursday into global beer giant AB InBev to determine if it has abused its dominant position in Belgium by hindering cheaper imports of its products from neighboring countries.
EU officials said there are suspicions the company, based in Leuven, Belgium, may be pursuing a deliberate strategy to block imports of its beer from less expensive countries, including France and the Netherlands, to the pricier Belgian market. …

They destroyed Beck’s in America when they started making it with Mississippi River mud water.
Ditto Rolling Rock when they took it away from the spring water of the Laurel Highlands and started brewing it in Newark, NJ.
Ironic that a Belgian beer company owns a beer called America!!!
When they purchased Hoegaarden from Pierre Celles and moved the brewery from the city of Hoegaarden, the city sued to get their name removed from the beer as InBev moved production from the city. I understand InBev moved production back to Hoegaarden.
I was a personal guest of InBev's Board Chair at an international brewing symposium several years ago at the University of Leuven in Belgium. For that I am forever grateful to them. Lot's of great beer in Belgium!
InBev, the largest beer company in the industry, has over 200 beer brands produced and sold throughout the world.
Its global brands are Budweiser, Corona and Stella Artois. Its international brands are Beck's, Hoegaarden and Leffe. The rest are categorized as local brands.
In 2013, it had a net profit of US$14.4 billion (including extraordinary items) on sales of US$43.2 billion.
