While Attorney General Loretta Lynch holds firm to her claim that the motive of Orlando terrorist Omar Mateen may never be known, the FBI is instructing Florida agencies that responded to the attack that night to deny requests for public records pertaining to the case.
Mateen called police several times during the three hour ordeal to declare his allegiance to ISIS, yet only a fraction of his discussions with authorities that night have been released to the public — first an edited version, than an unedited one.
In response to a lawsuit by local media seeking the release of the 911 audio, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office released a letter they got from the FBI instructing them to deny all requests for information and refer news outlets seeking information to the feds, the Orlando Sentinel reports.

How does the FBI have any authority to tell Florida police agencies what to do, or not do?
If, as the Administration claims, this is just a random criminal who had access to a gun when he shouldn’t have (and who’s fault is THAT?), then why is there ANY FBI involvement? Maybe it IS terrorism, which would give them jurisdiction (not that they will ever say that in public)?
This is a local police matter, and the Orlando PD should decide whether to release or not. Oh, BTW, I understand that FL law REQUIRES that there be open records, so that it MUST be released. There is no issue of tainting a criminal case against the perp, because he’s (thankfully) dead.
Besides, the transcript (somewhat redacted, in all of the conveeeeeeenient places) of the 911 calls has been released. What could it be [soto voce: Arabic praising of Allah] that they don’t want the public to hear?
I am SO incredibly sick and tired of these anti-American criminals who are running our government. Trump taking the Oath of Office cannot come too soon.
