Not only might they become more distant, but I have been shocked by some of the escalating and blatant anti-Semitism I’ve started seeing among Millenials in other corners of the internet.
There are elements of American Jewry which have essentially abandoned faith in God for secular and leftist causes. This was - and remains - a central tragedy of Jewish history — not only are they lost but some of them go over to the dark side ( not just politically but spiritually - joining patently evil, Satanic movements and even openly seeking, aiding, or abetting the mass- murder of the Jewish people. Also, some of them directly disobey their Jewish teachings by undermining the societies they are living in. While it is true that some Christians also exhibit these behaviors, it is perhaps even more tragic when a Jew does it ( because of the Jews’ smaller numbers to begin with). Think soros the self- proclaimed Athiest funder of evil causes — and a few miserable traitor politicians in Israel even today, etc.
American liberals identifying as Jewish aren’t Jewish at all.
They are liberals first, and everything else is just window dressing.
I wish we could trade all the religious muslims, and non-religious jews in this country for an equal amount of religious jews and non-religious “cultural secular non-practiciing muslim apostates”..
Bit my point is - there’s precious little the majority of the Jewish people can or should do about the article’s “alienation” of the secular leftist “jews” who have abandoned their great biblical and spiritual heritage. Israel and the faithful Jewish community do try to invite, encourage the return of the lost ones. A great deal of effort is put into this. A few do return. The rest , regrettably, stay lost. There’s nothing more that can properly be done for them — it is like asking the Catholic church to figure out how to redeem and save Nancy pelosi. Or the LDS church to solve Harry Reid’s spiritual problem. Or the baptists to save jimmy carter. When an apple goes bad, it’s often like when an egg breaks. Very difficult to repair.
