If the Dubya and the GOP managed to score on one important (and enduring) conservative goal in that four year window, I think conservative GOP voters today would be far more traditional in their approach for a candidate.
I think the lesson is very clear now. Democrats win, and the liberal agenda advances quickly. Republicans win, and the liberal agenda advances less quickly. It’s a reckoning and I am not pleased it’s happening, but it’s the only rational choice left.
It’s also worth noting that the conservative agenda never advances at all.
