I really don't like the zotting purge that's been going on, but Trump is the rightful nominee (or will be officially) and I'll vote for him for sure (even though I was a Cruz guy).

But now, I don't see much difference between trying to replace Trump at the convention with Cruz or any other GOPe guy. The effect will be the same whether Cruz is more purely conservative or not. It will split the vote and result in the election of Hillary. Anyone who supports that might as well just vote for Hillary.

Around here, to get zotted, you really have to try. You have to go at it with a will.

So I reject the characterization that there is a "purge" occurring. More like "spring cleaning" to remove the incorrigibles who have vocally declared themselves.

It's a subtle but important distinction. In order to get banned from FR, typically you have to ask, even beg for it...

There was a mini-purge of Cruz supporters a while ago, but most of the FR nicks I didn’t recognize, and the couple of regulars that rode lightning did pretty much ask for it. Not much going on right now.

But it’s also true that FR has been declared a safe space for Trump supporters and Catholics, and while I consider that unwise, I do consider myself as a guest for whom it is bad form to insult a mostly gracious host.
