Ted Williams was the Greatest hitter of all time. Missed 5 yrs in war. Would have smashed many records. Was likely an even better fly fisherman.
Amazing how missing all those seasons ans came back twice and didn’t miss a beat.

Ted had extremely keen vision - I heard somewhere that he could detect the spin of a curveball within a few feet of the ball leaving the pitcher's arm. In air training with the Navy in WWII he shredded the targets.
He was, in my opinion, the greatest hitter of all time. The last .400 hitter - and did not sit down at the end of the season to protect it. Lifetime batting average of .348. There has been no better.
