Let them leave - they have few resources and are dependent on largesse from England. Scotland has diminishing oil reserves and it is much cheaper per barrel, scotch whiskey and tourism. It is a net taker from the rest of the UK and is overrepresented in Parliament; only half the Scottish voters per seat in the Commons. No loss, they will have to find someone else to subsidize their welfare state.

The Labour Party would be destroyed if Scotland bolted, IIRC. That might give UKIP a better chance at getting a PM, right?
