Figure 1. Monterey Canyon extends from Monterey Bay, California into the Pacific Ocean for some 153 km (95 miles). At its deepest it is 3,600 m (11,800 ft) below sea level although the canyon itself is only about 1.6 km (1 mile) deep.

Hmmm, all this time I thought it was well understood that, for just two examples, the Alps were created by 2 tectonic plates smashing into each other (African and Eurasian plates), and the Himalyas as the collision between The Indo Australian plate and the aforementioned Eurasian plate.
Is it your contention, fishtank, that these 2 mountain ranges were not formed by plate tectonics?
I am a geomorphologist. This article is the most misleading collection of nonsense that I’ve seen in years. Thankfully, my Christian faith does not require conjuring up this magical mystery gobbledegook to explain the evidence of God’s great work on this Earth.
