Orlando Massacre: Love Still Wins
Townhall.com ^ | June 21, 2016 | Susan Stamper Brown

No matter how dark or evil the moment, love wins. It always has.

But evil wasn't part of the original plan. "In the beginning God created..." Earth and man and woman and plants and animals...and every last bit of everything he created...was good. God said it was good...perfect...love-filled...free.

Because there was freedom there was also free choice. So man and woman were created with the ability to freely choose between right and wrong...darkness and light...good and evil. And that's how we arrived at the very dark moment in the early hours of June 12 in Orlando, Florida when evil momentarily prevailed. A man filled with indescribable hate did the unthinkable, killing 49 fellow humans, beautiful humans, that God created. That's what hate does.

And we actually have legislators who believe this kind of unutterable hate, a heart problem, can be controlled with manmade laws. Evil does not need a Sig Sauer rifle to accomplish a damnable deed. Does anyone really believe those with that much evil in their hearts would care about laws or regulations? Even if the left hit the jackpot and every gun was confiscated, evil would still find a way. It's largely illegal to own guns in China. Because the Chinese government values human life about as much as Planned Parenthood values babies, it's pretty obvious gun laws weren't designed to protect anyone. They also banned knives after a spate of deadly knife and cleaver attacks on school kids that left 20 dead and 50 wounded. Even with knives banned, a crazy, knife-wielding Chinese man went on another stabbing spree at an elementary school awhile back.

Take away guns and haters will use knives. Take away knives and they'll find something else until we're all forced to eat steak with teaspoons. Evil always finds a way.

But so does love.

The world should note the two groups liberals currently court obviously cannot coexist while the one it demonizes, Christianity, always comes to the rescue.

Christian organizations like Franklin Graham's Rapid Response chaplains and the American Red Cross always show up in times like this. Chick-Fil-A even opened up on Sunday to feed those making blood donations.

A Chicago man named Greg Zanis, who heard about the Orlando massacre, stayed up all night building 49 white crosses. He drove 1200 miles to Orlando, delivering them, with no pomp and circumstance, in the middle of the night, slipping out of town before sunrise, a Tennessee newspaper reported.

He built crosses because that symbol of death is really a symbol of life for those who understand that this sometimes nasty, horrible, awful place that we currently dwell is not all there is to life. The good news is there's good news. Love won finally and foremost when the one God sent died on a cross for us. No matter where we currently find ourselves, in a gay bar, behind bars, or sitting self-righteously in a church pew, God desperately desires that we give ourselves to him.

This life is dreadfully unpredictable. Odds are, not one of the 49 people killed in Orlando had even a passing thought that the song they danced to in the Pulse nightclub would be their last.

For me, a recent morning's run might have been my last when a mother moose and two babies stepped out of the woody shadows of a trail and onto my path. She charged me. My dogs charged her back as I jumped over a guardrail. And then, in a split-second, it seemed as if an invisible wall of protection surrounded me and my dogs. There is no other explanation. She retreated, I gathered my dogs and ran the fastest two-and-a-half miles ever, back to my SUV.

I was okay, but even if I wasn't, that would be okay too, because I know where I'm headed next. What about you?

If I were to nitpick about anything at all: one cross should have sufficed, to indicate the cross offered for the salvation of any who would accept. GENERALLY, Christian faith reserves individual crosses for those who gave an accepted testimony before they died.

And yet, did any pray for salvation before they were slain? Maybe some did. Mateen wasn’t even masquerading as Christian; he was a tangibly demonic presence. Maybe he was permitted to serve as God’s warning to some perishing elect.

But we can surely apply some charity and allow all of them to stand for, at least, the hope that all would accept salvation. This isn’t saying here lay saints. This is saying here lay sinners who need help just like you and I and the most holy saint who ever walked the earth (whoever that is) do.

And it strikes me as a supernatural omen that about 24 hours before that, one of the few known modern American Christian martyrs, Christina Grimmie, was slain in that same city. I do not know what exact grudge Christina’s killer had, but apparently he had sent a threatening note to her, and, perhaps Judas-like, he committed suicide at the scene.

God does not let martyrs die without a reason, a plan, and a purpose in mind. Typically, the church explodes in membership in the wake of such events; many believers are saved and testify. If we see that here, we should not be surprised, but give glory to God for His love and wisdom.

The Gaystapo was out today ,,, they had a sizable protest outside a local Catholic Church here in Apopka, FL today (Saint Francis)... They don’t have the balls to protest a Mosque.

It’s a sad scene.

Evangelism is the only thing that might be able to cut past the nonsense. If you’re waiting for them to get a notion to go into your church, you might be waiting till kingdom come.

The problem is simple:

They do not believe in God; they therefore do not really believe in good or evil.

They believe in Society: Society giveth and Society taketh away.

That is why they seek to destroy unalienable rights, and that is why they seek to defend evildoers:

They think that if a person commits a so-called bad deed, it is because he was not properly socialized by the government, and the answer is always to increase the power of the government over the individual.

To the secular, atheist, leftist mind, good is not only relative, it is extrinsic - supplied and endorsed only by society.

That is why a true leftist will kill an unborn child, but save an adult murderer - and feel righteous in both instances: The worth of a person is extrinsic, imputed only by the grace of Society:

The unborn has had zero investment from Society; it is therefore a non-person with zero value. It makes sense to a leftist to kill it before Society invests anything in it, if that investment seems in any way questionable.

The murderer has had years of flawed investment by Society. Society - their true god - somehow failed that adult, and Society must rectify that failure; the murderer cannot be held accountable for his deed.

The unwanted unborn must be murdered; the manifest murderer must be redeemed.

I expect an announcement shortly from the Obama Administration, saying that all SWAT Teams will be replacing their evil assault weapons with bouquets of flowers.

Make Love! Not Jihad!
