Because Cruz was supposed to “take on the Washington cartel” with his superior moral ground. Then he fishes through the gutter to hire a Bush criminal.
When Trump hires Neil Bush or McCauliffe, I will disavow him.
I'm not asking anyone to disavow Trump. I'm going to vote for him, even if her were to hire someone like McAuliffe.
What I want to for people to see the blinders that are in place, and how this intense level of devotion is dangerous and counter-productive.
In 2012, when Romney was the nominee, Freerepublic sucked it up and supported him in the campaign, but it never became forbidden to point out problems with Romney, or to question his strategies and choices. You didn't have to be a total cheerleader for Romney, in fact there were very few who were. And those who supported Romney in the primary, which were few and far between on this site, welcomed the support of others who had ran without constantly running down the vanquished candidates.
When Trump took the nomination, the Trump supporters on this site should have welcomed in those who fought for other candidates. But they didn't. And they still don't. And in fact, they turn against other Trump supporters who dare question anything that Trump says or does.
The liberals have Social Justice Warriors who act in such a manner, turning on their own if someone strays from their narrow line, and sadly, Freerepublic is sinking into the same morass of political correctness. And yes, if there is only one point of view that can be expressed, if there is only one opinion that can be held, if there is only one acceptable reaction then that is indeed political correctness at its heart.
