California Gov. Jerry Brown signed a bill to expand Obamacare to cover illegal immigrants, but now it’s up to the Obama administration to determine if the nation’s largest state will get an exemption related to a specific promise the president made when trying to sell the health care law.

The Golden State will be asking the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for a “State Innovation Waiver” under Section 1332 of the Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare. This would allow illegal immigrants in the state to purchase private health insurance plans from the California exchange, Covered California, but would not make them eligible for federal subsidies.

I doubt the Feds are actually coy.
They just haven’t figured out a way to do this under the radar screen.

If they'd already denied that they were going to do it, then it would mean they were in the process of doing it. If they won't say whether they will or won't, that means they're probably just delaying and delaying and delaying, and plan to implement it after the election. They did the same thing with Keystone XL. Thanks milton23.

When the federal government observed that the amount paid in weekly health insurance premiums exceeded most federal withholding amounts from a persons paycheck, it was just a matter of time until they went into the healthcare business.

Remember South Carolina Rep. Joe Wilson yelling “You lie” during Obama’s state of the union speech, saying this exact thing would not happen (Obamacare covering illegals)? And the libs (politicians and media) were all horrified that the congressman would dare to express outrage at the lies.

without subsidies, none of them would sign up. Why would they - they go to emergency rooms for free.
