Because she’s making a political statement, just as her mom did.
In the 1970s, Hillary didn’t take the Clinton last name during Bill’s first term as governor. She became Clinton later.
And then, when she became first lady, with no explanation of why, the media started referring to her as Hillary Rodham Clinton. I’m sure they were told to do so.
So Chelsea is wanting to make a political statement, I’m sure.
Anybody out there, know anyone where the wife didn’t take the husband’s last name, and know why these women chose not to do so??? Is there any other reason other than the political statement angle????

Besides, the Clinton name adds an aura of class.
Because she is a Clinton, first and foremost. The name opens doors for her. Chelsea Mevzinsky? Everyone would say....who?
