The first in the bum rush is the bum who gets the first bullets. Frankly if I am unarmed I doubt I am going to frontally assault the guy with the gun.

In that situation, you’re going to get bullets in the chest anyway, whether you rush him or not. If they had rushed him, while he was changing clips or playing with his phone, they probably could have stopped him.
Worse to me were the police, the guy is in there alone, guarding 6 doors and posting on facebook, yet no one could figure how to take him out for three hours?
Why didn’t they throw a stapler or what not like they tell people in schools to do. That would have stopped the shooting, right. /s
