Your IPAD 2 will run what it has as long as you want, just can’t upgrade to the newer OS because its not supported...
After 5 years that’s not overly shocking.
I’m not a bit shocked that Apple will leave their customers without security updates just to sell them more hardware. Especially with just a few minths notice.
