I assume he was talking about the northeast settlers - the pilgrims, etc. Yes, I know there are mud huts, adobe, etc. further west. We have plenty of colonial homes here in the northeast - they’re pretty nice.
Actually, the Kentucky home Lincoln was born in is pretty primitive but was not made of ‘sticks and mud.’
BTW have you been watching TURN? Ol' Benedict Arnold is flipping a really cool colonial in downtown Philadelphia now that he's being transferred to West Point. I'm not sure Peggy is really cool with it though... :)
