Ask the Japanese; they thought it was in their country’s best interest. Think about the jihadi attacks on Japanese soil...oh wait, there haven’t been any.
There is not, and never was, a call for permanent ban on the admission of all Muslims to US territory. The misrepresentation here is staggering, to say the least. Merely that Muslims be fully vetted, so we know who they are, and whether they are persons of no criminal record in their home countries. Once we have a handle on that, then Muslims may be admitted on an individual basis, so long as they declare their intentions upon arrival in the US.
Political asylum shall not be granted to any Muslim. Those who apply for it shall be held at some point offshore of the US until other arrangements may be made, or they may then apply for admission of an individual basis.
