From what I’ve seen in the past, when the msm has this kind of conflict, they simply ignore it. Unfortunately they have a convenient cover to ignore it - and that is moving forward on gun confiscation...I mean gun control.

They've already decided to blame it on guns, hence on conservatives. Hell, some are even blaming it on Christians. Dilemma solved.
